For over three decades, The Ornamental Man has been Colorado Springs' trusted name in custom iron rails, iron metalworks, and precision welding. Founded in 1996 out of a home garage, the shop moved into its current Colorado Springs location in 2001 and began partnering with builders and contractors in 2005. In 2022, Tim Kanaly acquired the business, carrying the legacy forward with in-house CAD design.

Our team's passion for metalwork began long before The Ornamental Man was officially founded. With an eye for design and an unwavering commitment to quality, our expert team has built a reputation that extends far beyond Colorado Springs.
Every project, whether a simple residential railing or a complex custom installation, receives our team's personal attention. We believe that custom metalwork isn't just construction; it's art that will stand for generations.
Our approach combines traditional blacksmithing techniques with modern welding technology and in-house CAD design, creating pieces that honor the craft's rich history while meeting today's architectural standards. Start to finish, we can do it all and help you through to the end.
We're known for quality iron metalworks with reasonable pricing. As the last trade in on many new builds, we understand tight install windows. We measure and install around completed trim, walls, and floors. Visit our showroom, open to the public for drop-in visits Monday through Friday, 8am–2:30pm, to see the possibilities firsthand.
